Montana Governor Signs Mercury Reduction Bill

Governor Brian Schweitzer recently signed into law a bill to help reduce mercury pollution in the state from one of the largest sources of mercury in household products: thermostats. |

The Mercury-Thermostat Collection Act bans the sale of mercury-added thermostats and establishes a recycling program for their collection. WVE worked with Honeywell, one of the major manufacturers of thermostats in the US, on drafting the legislation. Click here to learn more. |

"Toxic Tub" Report Finds Carcinogens in Baby's Bath

In March WVE and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics released a report revealing that Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo contains at least two hazardous contaminants: 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde. |
