The Alliance surveyed popular brands of nail polish on whether they use the "toxic trio"(toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate) in their products.

Montana Governor Signs Mercury Reduction Bill


mercury_products.png Governor Brian Schweitzer recently signed into law a bill to help reduce mercury pollution in the state from one of the largest sources of mercury in household products: thermostats.

The Mercury-Thermostat Collection Act bans the sale of mercury-added thermostats and establishes a recycling program for their collection. WVE worked with Honeywell, one of the major manufacturers of thermostats in the US, on drafting the legislation. Click here to learn more.

"Toxic Tub" Report Finds Carcinogens in Baby's Bath


WhatsGoingOn_cropped.jpg In March WVE and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics released a report revealing that Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo contains at least two hazardous contaminants: 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde.

Take Action: Ask Johnson & Johnson to live up to its "pure" and "gentle" claims.
